У колективній монографії подано авторську точку зору щодо дослідницького простору українського культуротворення.Item The "Karasuk" knives in Ukraine(2025) Klochko, DanyloThe article presents the Ukrainian finds of knives that originate in the Karasuk culture area. They are divided into two distinct types in respect to their form: the straight ones and the curved ones. Each knife is unique, having either one or two sharp blade sides, a pointed or rounded edge, and a distinct separation between the handle and the blade — or none at all. The closest analogies of these items are provided as well, coming from the Don and Volga river regions, Central Asia (mainly various regions of Kazakhstan) and China. The name "Karasuk knives" is considered artificial and is used in a generalizing manner, as such items are found across a vast territory, far beyond the traditional Karasuk area. One of the Ukrainian finds is completely unique for the Karasuk material complex, as it is not made solely of bronze, but once had an iron blade. The discussion regarding the use of the "Karasuk" knives (mainly whether they could have been used as weapons) is also addressed, as well as the obvious differences between knives and daggers in the Karasuk culture. Since this culture’s material complex includes a rich collection of daggers and swords, it is unlikely that the usage of knives as weapons was widespread among those people. Further evidence for this may be the complete absence of knife depictions on stone stelae, contrasting with other kinds of nomadic weaponry. According to the available dating, several types and variants of the knives continued to coexist for a long period of time. The differences in forms may be an indication that the knives had different purposes for those using them. The development of generative models for audio synthesis, including text-to-speech (TTS), text-to-music, and text-to-audio applications, largely depends on their ability to handle complex and varied input data. This paper centers on latent diffusion modeling, a versatile approach that leverages stochastic processes to generate high-quality audio outputs. Key goals. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of latent diffusion modeling for TTS synthesis on the EmoV-DB dataset, which features multi-speaker recordings across five emotional states, and to contrast it with other generative techniques. Research methods. We applied latent diffusion modeling to TTS synthesis specifically and evaluated its performance using metrics that assess intelligibility, speaker similarity, and emotion preservation in the generated audio signal. Results. The study reveals that while the proposed model demonstrates decent efficiency in maintaining speaker characteristics, it is outperformed by the discrete autoregressive model: xTTS v2 in all assessed metrics. Notably, the researched model exhibits deficiencies in emotional classification accuracy, suggesting potential misalignment between the emotional intents encoded by the embeddings and those expressed in the speech output. Conclusions. The findings suggest that further refinement of the encoder's ability to process and integrate emotional data could enhance the performance of the latent diffusion model. Future research should focus on optimizing the balance between speaker and emotion characteristics in TTS models to achieve a more holistic and effective synthesis of human-like speech.Item The methodological limitations of deliberative democracy in times of uncertainty(2025) Synhaievska, DariaThe foundations of deliberative democracy rest on ideals of communicative rationality, as articulated by Jürgen Habermas, a key representative of the Frankfurt School’s second generation. Emerging from critical theory’s broader critique of instrumental rationality, deliberative democracy emphasizes public discourse and consensus as essential mechanisms for legitimate governance. This model assumes that through discourse ethics, diverse societal interests can converge toward norms, transcending partial biases. However, in times of uncertainty — particularly during war or social upheaval — these assumptions face significant challenges. The historical context of the Frankfurt School’s development underscores this point. Established amidst the European crises of the early 20th century, critical theorists like Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer grappled with the failures of rationality that led to totalitarianism. The critique of deliberative democracy in the context of the Russo-Ukrainian war highlights the need to reassess the theory’s practical and ethical foundations. While deliberative democracy aspires to foster inclusivity and legitimacy through rational discourse, its application during periods of profound uncertainty exposes critical vulnerabilities. These include the challenges of relativism, asymmetrical power dynamics, and the ethical risks of procedural neutrality. The aim of this study is to probe the practical applicability and evaluate the core epistemological and ethical assumptions of deliberative democracy, particularly its Habermasian formulations, when confronted with conditions of uncertainty. It critically examines the theoretical underpinnings of deliberative democracy, its limitations, and the ethical dilemmas posed by its procedural inclusivity. Methodological approach taken in this article builds upon case study to illustrate the limitations of deliberative democracy, and draws on critical theory — especially those of Theodor Adorno and Jürgen Habermas — to evaluate its epistemological and ethical assumptions.Item Встановлення каталітичної активності нанокомпозитів з графеном нанесеним на оксидні носії в реакції гідрогенізації етену(2021) Носач, Вікторія; Бичко, І.Ламелярна структура відновленого оксиду графена (ВОГ) дозволяє створювати нанокомпозити з високою питомою поверхнею у комбінації з низьким вмістом ВОГ, а також можливістю варіювання типу та концентрації поверхневих функціональних груп у структурі нанесеного ВОГ. Можливість нанесення ВОГ на широкий діапазон носіїв робить привабливим використання таких нанокомпозитів у гетерогенному каталізі. Дана робота присвячена встановленню впливу концентрації ВОГ та природи носія на каталітичну активність композитів з нанесеним ВОГ на оксидні носії та активоване вугілля у реакції гідрування етилену.Item Catalytic activity of nanocomposites with reduced graphene oxide and different size fractions of aluminum oxide in the hydrogenation reaction of ethane(2024) Nosach, Viktoriia; Maksiuk, А.Carbon nanomaterials exhibit catalytic activity in hydrogenation reactions with molecular hydrogen, which was shown on the example of hydrogenation of hydrocarbons. It was established that a necessary condition for the manifestation of catalytic activity is a high degree of crystallinity and a low oxygen content in the structure of carbon nanomaterial. Considering these characteristics and considering the high degree of crystallinity and the developed surface, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) is of interest as a catalyst for hydrogenation reactions. At the same time, the influence of factors such as the size of the graphene plane, the number of layers, defectivity, and the influence of the carrier structural characteristics for the deposited rGO on the catalytic activity of the rGO remains undetermined. Thus, this work is devoted to establishing the catalytic properties of applied rGO on aluminum oxide and the influence of different size fractions of the carrier on the catalytic activity of nanocomposites.Item Каталітична активність нанокомпозитів з нанесеним графеном на оксиди алюмінію та магнію в реакції гідрогенізації етену(2020) Носач, Вікторія; Бичко, І.Вуглецеві наноматеріали проявляють каталітичну активність у реакціях гідрогенізації молекулярним воднем, що було показано на прикладі гідрогенізації вуглеводнів. Встановлено, що необхідною умовою для проявлення каталітичної активності є високий ступінь кристалічності та низький вміст кисню у структурі вуглецевого нанометеріалу. Враховуючи такі характеристики та зважаючи на високий ступінь кристалічності та розвинену поверхню відновлений оксид графену (ВОГ) викликає інтерес як каталізатор реакцій гідрогенізації. У той же час, вплив на каталітичну активність ВОГ таких факторів як розмір графенової площини, кількість шарів, дефектність, а також вплив носія для нанесеного ВОГ залишається невстановленим. Таким чином, дана робота присвячена встановленню каталітичних властивостей нанесеного ВОГ на оксид алюмінію та оксид магнію у реакції гідрогенізації етену.Item Встановлення каталітичних властивостей нанесеного відновленого оксиду графену на оксид маґнію в реакції гідрогенізації етену(2024) Носач, Вікторія; Бичко, І.На основі експериментів з гідрогензацією ненасичених вуглеводнів, було виявлено, що вуглецеві наноматеріали можуть демонструвати каталітичну активність у реакціях гідрогенізації з використанням молекулярного водню. Due to their high degree of crystallinity and developed surface, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and its composites emerge as promising catalysts for hydrogenation reactions.
